Sheep Fescue

Sheep Fescue is low-growing, deep-rooted, clump-forming grass is a drought-tolerant alternative to traditional lawns. Similar to Rocky Mountain Fescue, it's native to SK and MT, though not AB. Seeded densely, it creates a lumpy lawn most noticeable underfoot. The foliage stays low and dense, while flower stalks reach 12 to 16" tall. Allowing it to seed before mowing helps it thicken over time. It can be left unmowed or trimmed a few times through the season for a tidier look.
