Placing an Order
The total shown in your Cart is the maximum your order will cost. Before we process your payment, we’ll review the shipping details—if we can combine items into one package, we may be able to lower the shipping cost.
Due to system limitations, shipping is divided into categories. For example, if you order both plugs and seeds, your Cart will show two separate shipping charges. Don’t worry—we’ll adjust and remove any extra charges before finalizing your payment.
Shipping Live Plants - Guarantee Disclaimer
Live plants need to travel quickly to arrive in good condition. Unfortunately, due to system limitations, we can't restrict your shipping choices at checkout. If you're ordering plugs and select a shipping method that takes longer than 4 days, our full plant guarantee will not apply—only the dormant plant portion of the guarantee will remain valid.
Please note: if live plants are left in a box for more than 7 days, they will begin to show visible signs of stress or damage.
Plug Sizes and Seasonal Considerations
Our plugs come in a few different sizes depending on the plant’s growth habit. Most are 1.5" square with a 5" deep root ball. Smaller or slower-growing perennials may be grown in smaller plug trays. All plugs are grown in open-book-style containers, making them easy to handle and transplant.
As outdoor growers, we follow the natural rhythm of the seasons. If you order plugs in winter or early spring, your plants will be at least one year old. Plugs shipped in late summer or fall may be from the current season’s crop. If a species is sold out in spring, more may become available later in the summer—an excellent time to plant perennials. Contact us to join the waiting list.
Note: Plugs shipped in early spring may still be dormant. They should be planted as soon as possible.
Do not bring them indoors. Keep them in a sheltered outdoor location where you can monitor them until planting. This allows them to wake up with the season. If brought indoors, they may grow too quickly and become weak or leggy. Once that happens, they can’t go back outside until the weather catches up.
Occasionally, we may not be able to fill your entire order due to the unpredictable nature of live plants. If that happens, we’ll contact you and offer a choice between substitutions or a refund.
Wildflower Seed Packs
Each wildflower seed pack contains a different number of seeds depending on the species. Grass seed packs typically include about 50 seeds. Some wildflower seeds are rarer or more difficult to collect, which is reflected in the seed count. You can find exact quantities on each individual plant page.

- Smaller orders ship by letter mail
- Larger ones may ship by expedited parcel
If you order both plugs and seeds between October and March, seed packs will ship immediately, and plugs will be sent in spring.
Native Grass Mixes & Bulk Grass Seed
Grass seed is available year-round with no minimum order. Shipping is based on weight, distance, and parcel size.
Our native grass seed is sourced from the Prairie Provinces and repackaged into quantities that suit homeowners and acreage owners. In most cases, we do not collect the grass seed ourselves.
Shipping
We ship via Canada Post.
- Seed orders ship year-round, usually within 2–3 business days of payment.
- Plugs ordered from October–April will begin shipping the first Monday in May, in the order they were received. It takes a few weeks to work through all winter orders.
- We ship every Monday from May through September.
- Once your parcel is with Canada Post, you’ll receive a tracking number by email.
We do not hold orders for long. If you need to adjust your ship date, contact the office and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Plugs Shipped by Mail
You can order plugs in any quantity, but we require a minimum of 12 plugs for shipping. Feel free to mix and match species.
- Shipping method: Canada Post
- Shipping day: Mondays only, to ensure delivery by Friday
- Shipping cost: Based on parcel size, weight, and destination
Tip:
Our smallest box holds 20 plugs. Larger sizes hold 40, 60, or 88.
Since the price difference between a full and half-full box is small, we recommend filling your box to make the most of your shipping dollars. Try to avoid ordering just enough to bump you into the next box size.
Pick-ups
Local orders can be picked up by appointment at our nursery in Foothills County, just off Highway 7 between Okotoks and Diamond Valley (about 25 minutes southwest of Calgary).

Pick-up season: Early May through end of September (weather permitting)
- There is no minimum order for pick-up orders.
- Once your date is confirmed, we’ll send directions.
- You're welcome to come between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on your chosen day.

Please Note:
Winter placed pick-up orders must be collected by June 1st, or they will be cancelled and refunded.
Orders placed between May 1st and September 15th must be picked up within two weeks of payment unless other arrangements are made. Cancelled orders may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Shopping Appointments
Our sales yard opens in late April or early May, depending on the weather.
- Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Appointments are booked on the hour and last one hour.
- We carry potted stock and often have trial plants not listed online.
- No purchase is required.
- We’re not a drop-in nursery, but feel free to call on short notice—we might be able to fit you in!
Consultation Appointments
Consultation appointments with our Wildflower Experts are available for $50 per hour.
Bring your photos, sketches, and questions—we’ll help you choose the right plants and design your space.

Availability
Wildflowers vary in how fast they grow. Some are quick, others take a few years to reach a salable size. That means there’s no single point in the season when everything is available.
- Plug sales run from late April through September.
- If something is sold out, it may return later in the season.
- Feel free to contact us for availability or to join the waiting list.
What We Guarantee
We guarantee that:
- Our plants are grown by us, from seed collected locally and responsibly.
- Our plants are not harvested from the wild.
- Your plants will arrive in good condition, healthy and ready to transplant.
If Something Isn’t Right…
- Please inspect your order on arrival. If there’s an issue, contact us within 48 hours and we’ll make it right.
- We can’t take responsibility for anything not reported within that window.
Dormant Plugs
If your early spring order arrived dormant, and the roots looked alive but no growth appears by June 15, you may be eligible for replacements. To qualify:
- Notify us of your concerns before May 31
- Provide photos

Wildflower Seeds Guarantee
We guarantee our seed is viable. We collect and clean our seeds by hand and do our best to remove unviable seeds. However, we can’t guarantee germination due to the many factors outside our control once the seed leaves our hands.
