Trailing Raspberry, also known as Strawberry Leaf Raspberry Vine, produces delicate, five-petaled white flowers in spring, which give way to bright red, edible berries that are a favorite of birds and wildlife. The flowers attract native bees, such as mining bees, and hoverflies, which assist in pollination. With its trailing habit and finely toothed green leaves, this hardy native also grows well in containers in shaded spaces. It is ideal for woodland gardens, food forests, restoration projects, and pollinator-friendly spaces.
Trailing Raspberry is a low-growing, spreading perennial that thrives in shaded forests and moist, rich, well-drained soils, making it an excellent ground cover for naturalized and self-sustaining landscapes. Deer may browse the foliage, but the plant's trailing, spreading habit allows it to persist despite grazing.
