Dwarf Raspberry, also known as Arctic Raspberry or Nagoonberry, produces delicate pink flowers in late spring to early summer. The flowers attract bumblebees, mining bees, and hoverflies, which aid in pollination, while butterflies, including fritillaries, may visit for nectar. By late summer, small, sweet berries ripen, providing an important food source for birds such as thrushes and grouse, as well as a prized treat for foragers. Its lush, trifoliate green leaves turn golden in the fall, adding seasonal interest.
Dwarf Raspberry is a low-growing, spreading perennial that thrives in cool, moist environments, making it an excellent ground cover for woodland gardens, food forests, and naturalized landscapes. Hardy and adaptable, this resilient native plant is ideal for self-sustaining, low-maintenance plantings in both urban and rural settings. Deer may browse the foliage, but its spreading habit allows it to persist despite grazing.
