White Geranium is a hardy perennial with deeply lobed green leaves and delicate white flowers veined with soft pink or purple, each with five petals. Blooming from late spring through summer, its nectar-rich blossoms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. It thrives in meadows, open woodlands, and shaded garden edges, where it forms loose, non-aggressive clumps. As autumn arrives, its foliage turns a brilliant neon-red, adding striking fall color to the landscape.
This species is an excellent choice for partly shaded plantings in both rural and urban settings. Its fibrous root system aids in erosion control, making it valuable for stabilizing slopes. The plant can be prolific in seed production, flinging its seeds away from the parent plant, but unwanted seedlings are easy to identify, transplant, or remove. While its aromatic foliage deters most herbivores, occasional browsing may occur during drought-stressed conditions.

Traditional Edible & Medicinal Info
Traditionally, Indigenous peoples used Geranium species as an astringent infusion to reduce swelling and inflammation, while crushed leaves were applied to cuts, bruises, and skin irritations for wound care. It was also used to soothe stomach discomfort and diarrhea, and though not toxic, excessive consumption may cause mild digestive upset.
