Tufted Fleabane is a low-growing, drought-tolerant perennial with dense clumps of narrow, silvery-green leaves and cheerful, daisy-like flowers in shades of pale lavender to soft pink with bright yellow centers. Blooming from late spring into summer, it provides an important nectar source for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its compact, tufted growth habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, dry meadows, and prairie plantings, where it blends easily with other wildflowers and native grasses.
Thriving in nutrient-poor, well-drained soils, it is well adapted to harsh, dry conditions and requires little maintenance. It grows naturally in dry grasslands, rocky slopes, and open woodlands at mid to high elevations, where its resilience and tidy form make it a standout in rugged landscapes. Although specific studies are limited, its tough foliage and dry habitat suggest it is rarely browsed by deer.
