Erigeron glabellus var. pubescens - Streamside Fleabane

Streamside Fleabane is a very showy and hardy perennial with soft pink to bright purple, daisy-like flowers surrounding a bright yellow center. Blooming in the summer, its nectar-rich blooms attract a wide range of pollinators, including bees and butterflies and songbirds will eat its seeds. Its slightly hairy stems and lance-shaped green leaves form a tidy, clump-like growth habit, making it an attractive addition to riparian plantings, moist meadows, and naturalized gardens.

Streamside Fleabane works well along streambanks and wetland edges while also happily growing in garden and meadow settings. It is commonly found in moist meadows, along streambanks, riparian zones, in open woodlands, and in seasonally moist then dry conditions. Its aromatic foliage makes it less palatable, and moderately deer resistant, but occasional browsing may occur.
