Arctic Aster is a hardy, late-blooming perennial with delicate, lavender-pink, daisy-like flowers surrounding bright yellow centers. Blooming from late summer into fall, it provides a vital nectar source for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators preparing for winter. Its fine, lance-shaped green leaves grow along upright stems, forming tidy, clump-like growth that blends beautifully with other wildflowers and native grasses.
Arctic Aster is well suited for meadow plantings, rocky gardens, and naturalized landscapes, where it adds soft, late-season color without becoming aggressive. It grows naturally in boreal forests, tundra, sub-alpine and alpine meadows, moist grasslands, and riparian zones, showing remarkable adaptability to cool, often challenging environments. Its fine foliage and compact form offer limited appeal to browsing animals.
