Spear-Leaved Arnica is a hardy, clump-forming perennial with bright yellow, daisy-like flowers that bloom from early to mid-summer. Its long, narrow leaves give it a distinctive look, while its compact growth habit makes it well-suited for garden beds and naturalized meadows. The cheerful, nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, enhancing both the beauty and ecological function of the garden.
Thriving in shade to full sun, this species prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils and is well-adapted to wet meadows, alpine environments, and areas prone to periodic flooding. It is more restrained in spread than some other Arnica species, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens or urban plantings. While typically avoided due to its bitter foliage, Spear-Leaved Arnica may experience occasional browsing in areas with limited forage but generally recovers well.
