Meadow Arnica is a vigorous, spreading perennial with bright yellow, daisy-like flowers that bloom from early to mid-summer, providing nectar for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its upright stems and soft, lance-shaped leaves create a lush, meadow-like effect, making it a striking choice for wildflower meadows, erosion control, and large naturalized plantings.
Thriving in well-drained soils, this species spreads aggressively by rhizomes and quickly fills in open areas. While it may be too assertive for small gardens, its rapid growth makes it ideal for larger spaces or for those cultivating Arnica for medicinal use, as it is one of the best species for harvest. While not a preferred food source, Meadow Arnica may be lightly browsed, especially in areas with high deer pressure or limited forage.
