Heart-Leaved Arnica is a hardy, spreading perennial with cheerful yellow, daisy-like flowers that bloom from late spring into early summer. Its distinctive, heart-shaped leaves form a lush, low-growing carpet, making it an excellent choice for naturalized ground cover in woodland gardens, shaded borders, and open meadows. The bright blooms draw in bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, adding seasonal color and movement to the landscape.
Heart-Leaved Arnica prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils and spreads gradually by rhizomes, filling in spaces without becoming overly aggressive. While the foliage is generally unpalatable, occasional browsing may occur in areas with high deer populations or limited forage; however, it recovers quickly thanks to its resilient, spreading root system.
