Welcome to Wild About Flowers
Wild About Flowers is a supplier of native wildflowers, with a smaller selection of native grasses and woody plants. We’re also passionate promoters of using native plants in landscaping and gardening. Our wildflower seeds are collected from natural spaces in Alberta, and we grow our plants outdoors, in sync with the local growing season, to produce hardy, resilient plants that are ready to thrive.

Why Choose Native Plants?
Native plants are a smart, beautiful solution for gardening, xeriscaping, permaculture, acreage landscaping, naturalization projects, and commercial sites. The wildflowers and grasses native to our region offer a wide selection of hardy, drought-tolerant perennials that are biologically acclimatized to our variable climate.
Our native plants are beautiful, diverse and add much of the colorful under-story to the fall landscape. Because they’ve evolved to thrive in local conditions, native plants require little assistance, no chemical intervention, and minimal watering or maintenance. Their resilience makes them an obvious choice for addressing water constraints, environmental concerns, and labour-intensive gardening practices.
Native perennials and grasses are eco-friendly alternatives to traditional, high-input landscapes. They don’t need fertilizers to be vigorous and healthy and can handle our temperature extremes and precipitation patterns with ease. When used together in naturalized spaces, wildflowers and grasses have complementary root systems that crowd out unwanted plant material—offering sustainable, chemical-free weed control.
Naturalizing low-use areas with native plants almost eliminates the need to mow, significantly reducing labour and emissions. In a time when experts say the single greatest threat to biodiversity in Canada—and around the world—is habitat loss, every pocket of native plant habitat helps.
So go wild and support the environment that supports you!
