Wildflower Seed Mixes

The Easy Grow Mixes contain fifteen species of Wildflowers that do not require a winter stratification or any special treatment to germinate. They can be sown well into the spring with good results.

The Wildlife Mixes contain fifteen species of wildflowers that do not overlap with one another. Some seeds in this mix will germinate right away and others that need a cold wet period ranging from two weeks to three plus months before the seeds will germinate. These mixes should be sown in sun to part shade and well-drained soils.

The High Diversity Mixes contain thirty species of Native Wildflowers and there are some uncommon and hard to get species that are not available in individual seed packages. There are also seeds in this mix that will require a cold wet stratification period before they will germinate.

Please Note: We do not put filler in our seed mixes so the volume in the package can seem small for the number of seeds listed on the package, but volume isn't equal to quantity and most of the wildflower seeds are small. For more on what you can expect to receive please click here.

The Wildlife and High Diversity mixes are best sown in the fall or early in the spring and germination will occur over several years. These are perennial wildflowers and perennials grown from seed usually begin to flower in their second year but there are exceptions both ways.

Please read this article "What to expect when seeding Native Perennial Wildflower Mixes". We recommend you seed the mixes out at 15-30 seeds per square foot. A sheltered site that will get lots of care and attention can be seeded lighter where an exposed site that will have less aftercare should be seeded heavier.
