Description: Narrow to broadly pyramidal shape. Bark is grey brown, not deeply furrowed. Stiff, small green to blueish needles. Cones ripen in fall. Large conical tree up to 20m tall.

Found in Nature: Widespread, found in foothills to Montane, also found on north slopes of prairie coulees.

Distribution: Seed sourced along the Bow River by Cochrane.
