Description: This silky, silvery hairy perennial can cause slight skin irritation to some (hence its name), but not everyone is bothered by it. It is however amazingly beautiful in flower, blooming in late May to early August. It has a nice form with interesting feathery foliage that turns pinky orange in the fall. This wildflower would look great in any sunny sheltered site - plant where it will have winter snow-cover.

Found in Nature: Dry, rocky open sites, hillsides in the mountains.

Distribution: Montane to Alpine

Notes: Available as larger potted stock - pick up only.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
