Description: This shrub is thick and bushy with deep green leaves in summer turning a dark red in fall. Clusters of fragrant flowers give way to white berries, sometimes with a blueish tinge, which are coveted by birds. These berries ripen in fall and hang on until later in the season. Red Twig Dogwood is a fantastic four-season plant with branches that are dark red to purple.

Found in Nature: Riverbanks, lakeshores, wooded or open wet areas.

Notes: Branches will root if left touching the ground, prune lower branches to avoid this.
