Description: A beautiful plant with a big presence on the landscape, Mountain Hollyhock has spires of pink flowers blooming throughout the summer attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Perfect for a sunny garden with lots of room, Mountain Hollyhock is sure to make a big impression. In full sun it can grow over five feet high and several feet wide with a smaller presence in part shade. In contrast to the cultivated hollyhocks available from garden centres, Mountain Hollyhock is a perennial rather than biennial so it can be expected to put on a show every year. The flowers are also smaller than cultivated varieties but there is no doubt they make an impressive display. Hollyhock spreads by seed and can be expected to multiply if it is happy.

Found in Nature: Mountain streambanks, meadows and open forest slopes.

Distribution: Western North America along the Rocky and Cascade Mountain ranges. In Alberta it is only found in Waterton National Park.

Notes: Potted stock available

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
