Description: Found in grasslands and other dry areas from the prairies east to the Pacific, Fuzzy-tongue Beardtongue adds a beautiful splash of colour to the hot, dry garden. Thriving in a variety of soils from well-drained sandy soils to clay, this plant will fit well into alpine and rock gardens or in sunny garden beds. The plants start small with a single stem but over time they will spread to form clumps. Penstemons, also called beardtongues, are bee and hummingbird magnets with Fuzzy-tongue Beardtongue making a great addition to the pollinator garden.

Found in Nature: Dry, open habitat. Often found in clay soils and grassland ecosystems.
