Description: Just under 2m tall with a narrow base, dark grey branches at the tips with a reddish interior. Branches are covered in lenticles, creating a rough texture and smoky look. Attractive dark green leaves with outstanding orange-red fall colour. Small catkins in fall are non-persistent but attract small winter birds. Extremely drought-tolerant but is flexible in planting requirements, will do well in full sun to shade, dry or moist.

Notes: Does not tolerate grass growing at base, prefers a mulched bed.
