Description: This lower growing Aster is compact and spreads by rhizomes through the soil to fill in the nooks and crannies of open rocky sites and gravelly ditches. It would be a showy addition to a rock garden or any open gravelly site where is has room to grow. This is also a good choice for small contained spaces and will live in for years in containers that are properly overwintered.

Found in Nature: Open rocky sites, slopes and rock outcroppings.

Distribution: Rocky Mountains

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
