Description: This compact wildflower likes it sunny and dry, and has multiple blooms that are edible. It puts on a showy display in the summer and is easy to identify due to the elongated brown center and reflexed yellow flower petals. Its drought tolerance makes it a great choice for rock gardens, remote planters or south-facing flower beds that tend to dry out.

Found in Nature: Dry prairie, roadside ditches and disturbed ground.

Distribution: Prairies & Foothills

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
