Description: Lavender/blue petals surround a bright yellow button with a wonderfully eye-catching contrast. Blooming from July to September, Asters last long after most other wildflowers have faded. Asters will attract both birds and butterflies into your yard, and their height gives them good presence in a large space. Smooth Asters are not aggressively spreading by rhizomes and are more likely to be seedy which can be controlled by deadheading.

Found in Nature: Prairie ditches, meadows and open wooded areas.

Distribution: Common - Prairie, Foothills, Montane

Notes: Available as larger potted stock - pick up only.
Latin genus name recently changed from Aster to Symphyotrichum

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
