Description: Deep blue flowers start in the early spring and are a welcome sight. This versatile perennial grows on a variety of sites including moderately dry shade. This low-growing wildflower will seed itself about which makes it great for large spaces. Early Blue Violets also work well in smaller spaces due to their compact size and they can be counted on to put on a show; violets are easy to pull if unwanted.
Violets provide food for Frittilary butterfly caterpillars and are a great way to attract them to your yard!

Found in Nature: Moist prairie, open wooded areas and moderately dry shady sites.

Distribution: Foothills, Rocky Mountains

Notes: Available as larger potted stock - pick up only.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
