Description: Large leafy foliage and bright white flowers are an indicator of this wildflower's preference for moist shade. Canada Violets are rhizome spreaders, can be aggressive and form large patches. Plant in hard to grow areas, with competition from trees and shrubs as an understory plant or use its spreading nature to your advantage in large spaces. Violets bloom in the spring then can sometimes bloom again in the fall.
Violets provide food for Frittilary butterfly caterpillars and are a great way to attract them to your yard!

Found in Nature: Moist shady sites, in Aspen groves and other moist open wooded areas.

Distribution: Foothills, Montane

Notes: Available as larger potted stock - pick up only.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
