Description: Large flowers in the summer vary greatly in vivid combination's of yellow and orange, attracting butterflies, birds and your attention. Its reddy brown centers give it the common name of Brown Eyed Susan but it is also known as Blanketflower. This wildflower has great presence in a large landscape but is also a great choice in a smaller garden as each plant produces many blooms. This plant dislikes rich soils.

Found in Nature: Dry open meadows, ditches and hillsides. Sometimes in open wooded areas.

Distribution: Prairies, Foothills, Rocky Mountains
