Description: Alpine Asters have large solitary flowers on short stout stems in the late spring and is one of the first Asters to bloom. This low growing wildflower can form a solid mat and makes a good ground cover. This wildflower would make a nice border plant or work well in rock gardens and containers. Bees and Butterflies love Asters.

Found in Nature: Open woods, moist slopes and meadows.
