Description: Alpine Asters have large solitary flowers on short stout stems in the late spring and is one of the first Asters to bloom. This low-growing wildflower can form a solid mat and makes a good groundcover. This wildflower would make a nice border plant or work well in rock gardens and containers. Bees and Butterflies love Asters. In the Chinook Zone, plant where it will have winter snow-cover.

Found in Nature: Moist sunny meadows and open woodlands.

Distribution: Foothills, Montane & Alpine
